Minibus Fund – the minibus we want!
Why we are fundraising for a minibus…
There are a number of reasons we’re looking to raise money for a Squadron minibus. Currently we quite often have to reply on parents to transport Cadets to and from events around the county, this is time consuming and uneconomical. It limits the number of events we can attend within Essex. Travel further afield is also very costly and trips to Museums such as Duxford or the Imperial War Museum often require expensive, hired in transport such as coaches when a Squadron owned vehicle would be much more economic, lowering the costs for Cadets and parents.
What it would mean to the Squadron..
The Squadron would also like to offer a wider range of adventurous activities including regular trips to the national parks such as the Lake District or Snowdonia for activities such as mountain walking and climbing. Again, hired in transport is uneconomical and a convoy of 6 parents are unlikely to transport Cadets directly to the Lake District!
In summary we understand that with a Squadron minibus we could deliver better training at a more economic rate for Cadets and their parents and the bus would also provide us with a very public advert within the local community and help to raise our profile.
What sort of minibus are we looking for?
The squadron has had quotes from various Commercial Vehicle dealers and with safety and reliability in mind we’ve decided to purchase a brand new 17 seater minibus. The full specification for our bus can be found here.
